India’s First Microprocessor – SHAKTI

Shakti – India’s First microprocessor has been designed by researchers at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT- M). The researchers saying that this chip can be used mobile computing and other devices and this chip can be also used in low power wireless systems and Networking systems. The researchers say that this chip undergoes all the Indian and International Standards of processing and Manufacturing. This is the first Microprocessor chip that is designed and manufactured in India.

“MAKE IN INDIA”

With the advent of Digital India, there are several applications that require customisable processor cores. As far as concerned the SHAKTI family of processors will work on various consumer electronic devices, mobile devices, low power wireless and networking systems. The ability to design and manufacturing of chips is the next stage in manufacturing in India and also smart phone components are assembled in India.

The team who manufactured this chip has also been working on microprocessors for super computers named Parashakti  which will be released in the upcoming year. I Think its great to see india’s growth among the countries like U.S.A, China, Korea and Taiwan.

It is happy to see that the india’s growth in a technological field is becoming enormous and comes with an quality of standards that is fit to use these products in a electronic applainces.
